The American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation is an international professional association that promotes the advancement of the blood and marrow transplantation field.  ASBMT members are both in clinical practice and in research, only recently have health professionals in the BMT field had an organization that focuses exclusively on their clinical and research interests.  Previously, they have had to rely on more general medical and scientific organizations.  The ASBMT Bylaws outline the purpose and structure for the Society.
